Meet Our New Community Engagement Coordinator Lakeithea Anderson

Lakeithea_Full-3Hi Everyone! In fall 2016 I came across the Nashville Community Education catalog at my local Library and knew some friends that were volunteer instructors teaching business classes. I joined as a volunteer instructor in spring 2017 and loved the dynamics of this incredible program for adult education.

I have over five years consulting experience in Marketing and Public Relations. I graduated from Middle Tennessee State University with a Bachelor’s in Textiles, Merchandising, and Design and a minor in Mass Communications. I am responsible for engaging the community in the enrichment opportunities NCE offers while also collecting feedback. I hope to bring awareness and give voice to our program and participants.

I absolutely believe that education is a part of our everyday lifestyle. Whether it’s for leisure or learning a new career skill, education brings growth and NCE is right at the center of introducing affordable and enriching classes to the growing and diverse Nashville community.

My favorite part of working at NCE is being able to be a part of a community that encourages and supports life-long educational growth and opportunities. Many students and volunteer instructors return continuously to a program that has provided them with skills, courage and lifetime friendships. This community of learners are what makes up Nashville and I am excited to be along for the ride and looking forward to sharing the stories of our instructors, students and program with the Nashville community.

You can find me at your favorite local events, in the digital world navigating Social Media and the Blog for NCE or you can stop by the office and say hi.
