Years teaching with NCE: One

Why do you teach at Nashville Community Education?
Teaching at NCE gives me the opportunity to meet new people, do what I love (teach) and share beneficial information to whose willing to learn. The staff is great and very supportive.

Although you are teaching a class, what have you learned through students or others?
My class offers direction and guidance for those who are faced with life transitions and searching to find their “What’s Next?”  I’ve learned from some students that although life may not have turned out the way they expected, and from other students who are ready to create a new opportunity, that they have a resolve to imagine the possibilities and new ways of thinking.

What is one thing you wish people knew about NCE?
Just One?! Ok… NCE offers a diversity of classes on just about any area a person wants to learn.

What’s one thing we would be surprised to learn about you?
I love to draw and paint! I’ve had a love for Art since I was 10 years old.  I still take a class at Watkins College every other year to brush up on my skills.

If you are from Nashville, what’s one thing that transplants would be surprised to know about the city?
There is so much rich history in the city besides country music and great restaurants, such as historical landmarks, the Parthenon, major colleges and universities and the heart of the bible belt.

Favorite back road to get around town?
12th Ave South takes you through the Gulch, turns into Granny White Pike in Green Hills and stretches out to a beautiful drive to Brentwood.
