Kia Jarmon has one goal in mind: To help businesses, organizations, and people unlock their greatest potential.
With years of experience and some of Nashville’s most notable businesses as her clientele, Jarmon has earned her stripes and more as one of the community’s leading public relations and brand strategists through her work for The MEPR Agency, which she launched in 2006.
If you want to put Jarmon into the stereotypical communicators box, don’t even try — not only is she a PR maven, she’s also part storyteller and part brand coach, working with businesses and individuals to kick their brand into gear.
How does she do that? Simple: She takes them on a journey of introspection through a brand mapping process before anything else. This practice allows them to tap into the heartbeat of their brand, nurturing the big picture while focusing on their most effective attributes. Then she equips them with a brand-building strategy that is catered to their specific needs and its assets.
As a result of Jarmon’s commitment to helping others succeed, she has been recognized by the Middle Tennessee Diversity Forum as the “Woman to Watch.” Additionally, she has received the Nashville Business Journal’s ““Top Forty Under 40” and “Women of Influence” award in the Entrepreneur category and the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation’s “Top 30 Under 30”
She also serves on the YWCA Junior Board Committee, is a board member and public relations co-chair for the Tennessee Latin American Chamber of Commerce, has been appointed by Mayor Karl Dean to serve on the Nashville Farmers Market board, and serves as a part of the Metro Human Relations Commission Support Fund Advisory Board.
A graduate of Belmont University in Nashville, Jarmon was the first Ingram Achievers Scholar and received a bachelor’s degree in business administration. She is an adjunct communications and marketing consultant for the Center for Nonprofit Management.
She is often sought after to speak about communications, culture, audience translation and connectivity, storytelling, brand strategy, and social media.
Kia is currently working on a book entitled, Learn How to Be Selfish: A Guide To Being Selfish So The Selfless Moments Count.
