Fall Media Spotlights

This semester we have been featured in several local media outlets including television, radio, and print media. Find information and links beloew to all of our positive press for the curent Fall semester and new Antioch High School location!

In this Talk of the Town segment, Channel 5’s Tuwanda Coleman talks with our Dutch Oven instructor, Rich Moore, about the history, basics, and advantages of cooking in a Dutch Oven. Each semester this class fills with a group of students looking to expand their methods of cooking indoors in the kitchen and outdoors around a campfire. In this class students cover cooking breads, desserts, and a chicken and rice dish. Learn more by watching the video! Click on the link above to watch the video.

Tennessean journalist, Tony Gonalez, covers our newest class location, Antioch High School in this article. Our data from mailing lists and students enrollments showed that Antioch was the next area of the city that needed a Community Educaiton location. Beginning September 4th, classes opened at Antioch High School. Over 20 classes are scheduled to take place at Antioch High School over the course of the semester, including classes that have moved from Cohn to the new site, as well as a large collection fo new classes. Mrs. Cheap publishes her annual round up of affordable classes and activities around the city, including our afforable adult education class here at Nashville Community Education. Our classes include canning and seeding, Zumba and line dancing, Microsoft Office and social media classes, and Spanish and French. News Channel 5’s Janet Kim covers the expansion to Antioch, including interviews with Antioch Zumba instructor, Leah Jennings, and 360 Burger owner, David Swett. We are offering a class with 360 Burger, titled Burgers, Beers, and Business, to include burger and beer tastings, as well as, advice, stories, and chatter from the Swett brothers about entrepreneuship and owning restaurants around town.
