There are two consistent facts about this time of year–the weather will be unpredictable and registration for the winter Nashville Community Education classes will go quickly. Winter catalogs were distributed at the top of 2013 and just a week into the year several classes are already at 75% capacity that will presumably turn into a waiting list. Classes start January 22 and veteran and new students will be surprised at the variety of classes being offered.
The top of the year also creates great excitement as the 40+ year old office rolls out an upgraded website, designed to be more user friendly and interactive; becomes more socially engaged with the use of Facebook and Twitter and a opportunities for teachers and students to be featured through the new blog; a new online registration system that allows for more convenient class selection and payment; and the re-branded mantra set to Connect, Impact, and Explore that will provide students with personal and professional development courses, Nashville residents an opportunity to teach a skill, and the entire community the chance to take advantage of the opportunities education provides, respectively.
